Relieving
loneliness &
social isolation

Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly Upper Michigan Chapter (LBFE), a non-profit volunteer-based organization, invites people age 60 and older to join us in the celebration of life. LBFE provides programs for older adults who want to build their friendship circle, are isolated, or experiencing loneliness.

​

Services promote community engagement and provide opportunities to remain active and independent. 

​

We serve five counties in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan: Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, Marquette, and Ontonagon.

​

All programs and services are free of charge.

1,622 older adults participated in our seven core programs designed to relieve their social isolation and loneliness, promote community engagement, and provide opportunities to remain active and independent.​

1,214 volunteers contributed 13,277 hours (a value of $436,415) to befriend older adults, create positive community connections, and support the LBFE organization.​

Donors contributed non-financial gifts valued at $117,159 to reduce the direct costs of LBFE programs like our food assistance program, holiday celebrations, and more.
